Target User Group: People who want to learn about wines
From our research findings, we know that people who attend wine tastings are motivated by their desire to learn more about wines. Consequently, this type of people constitute our site's target user group.
User Group Characteristics:
- Likes wine
- Hasn't had much exposure to wine
- Interested in learning more about wine
We hope that our site can cater to such an individual both at the beginning of their learning phase as well as throughout the learning process too.

Persona: Intro
We decided that a persona would help us understand and design for the target user group. Our persona, Kathy, represents a typical user. Our site aims to cater to Kathy as she goes through 3 phases: 1) as she is just starting to become interested in wine tastings (aka the 'novice' phase), 2) as she is becoming more integrated in the wine tasting community (aka the 'knowledgeable' phase), and 3) as she is becoming an expert and hosting her own wine tasting (aka the 'expert' phase). By designing for Kathy, we hope that our design can cater the changing needs of a user over time as they become more engrained in the community and in their own learning process.

Kathy has always enjoyed the occasional glass of wine, but has never been to a wine tasting before. One Friday night, she is dragged to a local wine tasting by her friend Linda.
After enjoying a couple of tastings together, Kathy becomes curious to find a tasting on her own to share with Linda.
